The Royal Tahitien is an old resort in a quiet and spacious garden setting fronting a small black sand beach and with lovely mountain views. The Tahitien makes an afordable base for exploring Tahiti and it's just 8 minutes drive into downtown Papeete. Rooms are rather outdated but offer most of the facilities of the large brand resorts on the main island, including air-conditioning, but at a fraction of the cost.
