The Hilton Hotel Tahiti is the closest of the large ocean front resorts to downtown Papeete (5 mins by taxi or 15 minutes by foot). Otherwise a rather ordinary location without beachfront and its easy to get lost in the endless corridors. There's a lovely restaurant over the water, a pleasant pool fronting the ocean and plenty of organized water activities.
